About Me and the Site

“Every Christian has a responsibility to take care of God’s Creation. This sense of stewardship should not stem from a misplaced, “Earth First” notion, rather it should come from a conviction that God, our Father, created this earth for us to enjoy, as an expression of Himself, and that He has entrusted it to our care until He makes it anew.”

My name is Brett Brenner, and that’s the mission statement of The Steward’s Garden. I’ve only been gardening for about three years, but I love it! I get more satisfaction out of four hours in the garden on the weekend than I do in 40 hours a week, at my regular job. Sound like you? Then, welcome! (If you want a little more information on the rationale behind the site, check out the first blog post).

I hope that this site will serve multiple functions including, to foster spiritual growth, to serve as a repository of gardening knowledge, and as a means to inspire others to action. As I said, I’ve only been doing this for a few years, so if you’re new to gardening don’t be intimidated by following the site. Indeed, there are thousands of people out there more qualified than me in terms of gardening know-how. If, in fact, you’re one of those people, please contribute to this site and don’t be afraid to tell me when I’m wrong!
